EXERCISE BENEFITS OUTWEIGH AIR POLLUTION HARM

Even in the most polluted parts of the world, the health benefits of cycling, running or walking outweigh the risks associated with gulping down lungfuls of the filthy air around you. A Cambridge University study found that in an urban environment with average air pollution, you’d have to cycle for seven hours a day, or walk for 16, for the risks to outweigh the benefits of exercise. The study also found that even in Delhi, where the pollution is 10 times that of London, you’d have to cycle for over five hours a day to do yourself more harm than good.
