CHEERS TO A TIPPLE!
A study done at Ben-Gurion University in Israel, where a group of 224 teetotal volunteers were randomly allocated either a medium sized (150ml) glass of red wine, white wine or mineral water with their evening meal for two years.
The wine drinkers (particularly those on the red) saw improvements in their cholesterol scores and the quality of their sleep, compared with the water drinkers.
Although a smallish study, it is decent evidence that the occasional glass of wine is unlikely to do harm and may do some good.
