Celebrity chef Dudley Newbery will be highlighting the importance of healthy eating, as part of this year's Health Challenge Roadshow. The host of the S4C BAFTA-award winning food and lifestyle show, Dudley will provide ideas and inspiration on how to improve the average British diet. He will be hosting healthy eating cookery demonstrations at roadshow events in Fishguard Leisure Centre on Saturday, July 7, and at the Town Moor in Narberth on Tuesday, July 10. "We are delighted to welcome Dudley to the roadshow to demonstrate practical ideas of how to prepare delicious and healthy meals," said Clr. Sian James, cabinet member for health and well-being. "Dudley is not just a television studio chef - he likes to mingle and chat, and encourage all age groups to learn new methods of cooking." The Health Challenge roadshow also gives school pupils the opportunity to join in with healthy eating 'Cook It' sessions at Ysgol y Preseli in Crymych on Wednesday, July 4, and Ysgol Dewi Sant in St. Davids on Monday, July 9. Clr. James said there were many straightforward, inexpensive things that people could do to improve their diets. "We are extremely proud of our 'Cook It' scheme, which is now running in 23 schools across the county - giving primary and secondary pupils the opportunity to work together to learn about the importance of healthy eating," she said. Events at Ysgol y Preseli and Ysgol Dewi Sant will be open to the general public from 3.30 pm onwards. Members of the public can also enjoy healthy food tasting at events at Neyland Athletics Club on Thursday, July 5, and at Regency Hall and Car Park in Saundersfoot on Thursday, July 12.
