Sir,
A vast amount of what passes for science has to be
unlearnt whenever it becomes overtaken by the results of
more recent discoveries, e.g. witness the abolition of the
'Evolutionary Tree of Life' as reported about three weeks
ago.
My impression is that schoolchildren are being
spoon-fed Darwinism. In present-day Britain, saturated
with political correctness, it may seem strange to
entertain ideas that the Creator meant every word when
He wrote with His own finger, as recorded in Exodus
31:17-18, '...in six days the Lord made the heavens and
the Earth...'
Whilst a schoolchild, I remember how loudly people
laughed in disbelief at the very idea that God created Eve
from Adam's rib. But, since then, with the origin of Dolly
the sheep, the cloning of a mammal has become an
accepted fact.
When travelling on the Heart of Wales Railway, a man
once sat beside me from Knighton to Shrewsbury. Holding
his white stick, he told me how much his computer meant
to him. He explained that it spoke to him when the screen
was touched. That day was special to him because he
hoped to buy a device to allow his computer to obey his
spoken instructions.
That reminded me of someone who also uses Voice
Activating Technology and did not need long time spans
to make particles jump into place to become plants and
animals. When that same Creator became one of His
models, men in a boat on the Sea of Galilee became even
more terrified when the storm stopped when spoken to!
According to Mark 4:41, Christ's disciples asked each
other: "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey
Him?"
Even what happened in the Garden of Eden has been
matched by recent developments - anaesthetic sleep
before and during a surgical operation. Each 'Talking
Telescope' shown in the photograph along the Esplanade
overlooking the South Beach, reminds me of hotel lifts
that speak - like the serpent that tempted the First Lady
on Earth.
