Members of the Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism gathered at the Old Chemist Inn last week to see The Cawl Cooking champions for the last three years, Paul and Sue, present the new champions, Mandy and Dai, with the Cawl trophy. The new Cawl Cooking Champions of the World and Elsewhere were voted by members of the public who went on the Cawl Trail at the Saundersfoot St. David's Food and Craft Festival which was held on March 1 and 2 on Saundersfoot Harbour. The title was hotly contested by eight establishments around the village, all eager to win the title and trophy. At the end of the day, with votes counted, The Old Chemist Inn was voted the winner, with The Silver Strand Tea Rooms in second place and The Captains Table coming third. If you missed going on the Cawl Trail or you enjoyed it so much that you would like to try another one, then the Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism are organising a Fish Chowder Trail around the village on Saturday, June 28, from 11.30 am to 3 pm, for the Pembrokeshire Fish Week; also there will be a Fish BBQ on the harbour the previous Saturday, June 21, again from 11.30 am to 3 pm. Come down and enjoy the fun.
