The cawl trail, organised as part of Saundersfoot's annual St. David's Food and Craft Festival, was more popular than ever this year, and with 350 people taking part, some of the 10 eating establishments ran out of the traditional Welsh delicacy.
Judged on the taste-test of the visitors, this year's winner of the Cawl Cooking Championships of the World...and Elsewhere, was The Mulberry, which was delighted to secure victory after last year's runner-up slot.
In second place was The Old Chemist Inn, with the Mermaid on the Strand third.
Mulberry chefs Arno Tiesing and Cheryl Badham thanked their butchery suppliers, Cooper and Parish, for sponsoring the Preseli Bluestone lamb which went into the cawl, together with Castell Howell for other ingredients, including the Snowdonia Black Bomber cheese which accompanied the dish.
Arno is pictured receiving the Cawl Cooking Championship of the World.....and Elsewhere trophy from Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism chairman Phil Odley. With them are Cheryl Badham, Helen Tiesing and Bob Simpson from the Mulberry and Chamber members Angela Woods, Lindsey Evans, Andrew Evans, Lilian Lang, Hazel Caine and Ron Brabon.
