With only a month to go before Saundersfoot's annual St. David's Day Food and Craft Festival, preparations are well in hand for the two-day event which heralds the Welsh saint's day.

Now in its ninth year, the festival features over 30 stalls in a heated marquee on the seafront, offering seasonal, Pembrokeshire and Welsh produce to taste and buy, along with local crafts and goods.

And Welsh celebrity chef Angela Gray will be selecting the best of local springtime food to serve up in her cookery demonstrations throughout the event.

The festival - organised by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism - would not be complete without its Cawl Cooking Championship of the World...and Elsewhere.

The contest is judged on the vote of the greedy public, who are invited to 'cwm cawling' at 10 local eating establishments.

The cawl trail takes place between 11 am and 3 pm on the first day of the festival, Saturday, February 27, when the marquee will be open between 10 am and 8 pm. The following day, Sunday, February 28, the marquee is open between 10 am and 4 pm.

There are still a few vacancies for stalls - contact Lilian Lang on 812810.

Saundersfoot St. David's Day Food and Craft Festival is supported by the Welsh Assembly Government, Pembrokeshire County Council and True Taste of Wales.
