VOICES in the Castle is the title of a musical extravaganza which takes place at Pembroke Castle on Saturday, July 21. The Texaco-sponsored concert, which will be compered by BBC presenter Chris Needs, will raise money for Shalom House Hospice. Taking part will be Haverfordwest Male Voice Choir, Haverfordwest Ladies Choir, Pembroke Male Voice Choir and Neyland Ladies Choir, together with soloists Lilwen McAllister, Gwenda Morgan, Joy Cornock, and harpist Carys Evans. Doors open from 6.30 pm with the music beginning at 7.30. The audience will need to bring their own seating. Tickets, at £10 each, are available from The Pebbles Bookshop, St. Davids; Milford Haven Travel, Charles Street, Milford Haven; Vaughans, Quay Street, Haverfordwest; and Pembrokeshire Tourism, 55 Main Street, Pembroke. They will also be available at the door. In the afternoon, visitors to Pembroke Castle can enjoy music from four bands - Pembroke Borough Band, Tenby Silver, Milford Haven Town, and Goodwick Brass. A collection will be made for the Shalom House Hospice which is due to open later this year. The centre will provide much needed respice care for patients suffering from terminal or chronic illnesses.
