The band is still working very hard on their programme of music for their Town Hall concert on June 24.

The band has continued to meet through school and Bank holidays and individuals have practiced extensively at home.

Val has used a wide range of music which both uses all of the instruments to full effect and includes the familiar like Oliver, Elvis and Glenn Miller, as well as a specially written piece which conjures up a mediaeval castle with conjurors and jugglers.

On May Bank Holiday Monday, the band had a very successful day (see photograph). They were helped by John McGarry an experienced musician, military bandsman and music teacher from North Pembrokeshire who is in the process of moving to Pembroke. John was able not only to conduct the band when asked but also gave individual help when needed. He has continued to give that help on normal Saturday sessions which is greatly appreciated by the members.

Val McInally continues to, not only, lead the band but also to make necessary arrangements to book venues, print tickets, etc.

For those who would like to hear the band before then, they will have an opportunity at Milford Haven on Saturday June 11 (12 noon - Charles Street).

Also performing at the concert are the Grove School Choir and a young solo violist Eleanor Hodgson.
