A Kilgetty man accused of possessing an offensive weapon and causing criminal damage to a property in Saundersfoot, around Christmas time, has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Thirty-year-old Michael Ormond, of Ryelands Caravan Park, appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, faced with the charges that had arisen following an incident on December 25, 2011.

The prosecution told magistrates that the defendant was accused of using a knife to threaten doormen at the Sands Nightclub in Saundersfoot, after he and a friend had been asked to leave the premises.

He was also said to have removed bricks from a wall and thrown them at CCTV cameras and gates of the premises.

Mr. Ormond's solicitor denied that his client had produced the knife and that another person had already been cautioned for the other offence.

Magistrates adjourned the matter until June 5, so that Mr. Ormond's case could be committed to Swansea Crown Court, and the defendant was released on unconditional bail.
