A 12-year-old schoolgirl has tasted success in a competition to name Narberth's new culinary delight.

A pupil at Ysgol Preseli, Carys Davies, of 26 St. James Street, Narberth, cooked up the name 'Brennin Banger' for the pork, smoked bacon, red wine and mushroom sizzler created by local butcher, Andrew Rees.

Meaning 'King Banger' in English, Carys came up with the Welsh name after tasting the sausage when it was previewed at the recent Narberth Food Festival.

Carys's entry was one of 60 received by Andrew, who is seen here presenting Carys with her prize - a pound of sausages, plus some tokens - on Wednesday.
