CARVAN Chapel, Tavernspite, will be in the TV spotlight later this month.
It will be the focus of a 50-minute television documentary produced by TR Films on Welsh chapels, who are using Carvan and its community as an example.
"As part of the programme, we hope to include the local choir, Hendy Gwyn, a typical Sunday service, the story of how Carvan Chapel came to be built and how it continues to serve the local people today, as well as in the past," said producer, Tina Rayburn, of TR Films, a small independent production company based in Surrey.
"We particularly want to focus on the history of the area and the characters who have been prominent in the life of the chapel."
As the filming will be falling over St. David's Day, the TV company are fortunate enough to have been invited to cover an Eisteddfod at Tavernspite School.
If the programme is successful, it will become part of a series on chapels in America and Europe.
Added Tina: "We have chosen Carvan because I have family links to the area. My grandparents are buried in the chapel cemetery and the farm on which my dad grew up is nearby."
The service on Sunday, February 28, is at 2 pm, and will be taken by Rev. Rob James, of Pembroke. A warm welcome is extended to everyone.
