'CARS for Carers', the successful transport programme run by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) in Pembrokeshire, is busier than ever, now that summer has arrived in the county. Rachel Evans, its co-ordinator, said: "The volunteers have been working flat out to meet demand, particularly in the south of the county where the densest centres of population are situated." To this end, the scheme, which provides transport for unpaid carers in the county is looking for more volunteers to help maintain the service. Rachel added: "It's a great way for retired folk to be involved in the community and help others in a practical way - and volunteers are never out of pocket as mileage is paid at 40p per mile."
