During the past week, five carol services have been held at the church, attended by well over 350 people in the community.
Netherwood School pupils presented a Christmas drama at the Oasis Lunch Fellowship Carol Service, which was led by Miss Helen Standing, director of music.
The service was followed by a Christmas lunch, prepared by members of the church where everyone received a cracker made by Caitlin Cumberland and Tabitha Moody.
Pupils and staff from Saundersfoot School attended special Christmas services for Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, led by Mr. and Mrs. Standing, which included the story of the Two Kings (Jesus and Herod), songs, quizzes and prizes.
On Sunday, the musicians for the family carol service were pupils of Miss Helen Standing, who formed a youth orchestra. Chris Wood played drums, with Anna De'Vall, Ben Turner, Hannah Taylor (clarinet) and Caitlin Cumberland, Amy Taylor, Rebekah Chatwin and Grace Lockwood (flute).
Lewis Howells sang 'In the Bleak Midwinter' and Lucy Gleed and Jessica Davies sang the opening verse of 'Come and Join the Celebration' as a duet.
Using the music from the current hit musical Mamma Mia, Lydia Rooke sang a new song with the Christmas message which she had written herself.
The lessons were read by Mrs. Jill Chatwin and Mr. Anthony Standing. Mrs. Standing read a poem entitled 'The King has come.'
The theme for the service was 'Travelling to Bethlehem' and the congregation participated in a Family Fortunes style quiz on this theme. Of those who travelled to Bethlehem, the shepherds had the shortest journey. Mary and Joseph's journey was somewhere about 80 miles from Nazareth. The wise men's journey from the east would have been at least a thousand miles and the angels travelled from the glories of Heaven to proclaim the good news of the Saviour's birth.
In his message, Mr. Standing said we are all on a journey, some have travelled further than others and when we travel it is important to have directions and it's even better when we have a companion with us who knows the way.
The Bible is our map giving directions for life and the Lord Jesus came to be our Friend and Guide, showing us the way to a glorious eternal destination where He awaits all believers.
This Sunday, Hebron and the Methodist Church will join the carol service at Thomas Memorial Church at 11 am. The churches will join together at 10.30 am on Christmas morning for a short service at Hebron. Everyone is most welcome. Mid-week activities will resume in the New Year.
