GMB members working at Carmarthenshire highways department have suspended action following a new offer from management that will be put to members.
GMB, Unison and Unite trade unions have been in dispute with the local authority over a collective agreement signed 2 years ago.
Members have already taken 48 hours’ worth of strike action and had just begun a further nine days of planned action from 18 - 25th of January.
Following successful talks on Tuesday, January 18 a new offer has been agreed between the trade unions and management.
The unions will discuss the details of this offer with members over the next few weeks.
Peter Hill GMB regional organiser said:
“We’re glad the council has seen sense and come back to the table.
“We will need time for our members to vote on the new offer, so we’ve suspended any further action to allow us to discuss the offer in detail.”
