The ladies at Tenby Day Care Unit are busy clicking their knitting needles for their latest charity knitathon - this time in aid of Velindre Cancer Hospital.
Reading about the day care unit, which has been open now for eight years, in the Observer, local resident Christine Young asked Singleton Taylor, senior care assistant, if the ladies would knit snowmen which will be finished by a production team elsewhere, filled with cream eggs and sold at various outlets with proceeds going to Velindre.
To date, a massive £900k has been raised with volunteer knitters working enthusiastically, producing snowmen for winter/Christmas and chicks in time for Easter.
Donations of wool for the project would be welcome. Please contact Singleton Taylor on 840057 or drop your donation into Tenby Cottage Hospital where the day unit is based.
