This week, Carew Wesley Methodist Youth Club went on a very special trip indeed -somewhere that is literally just down the road from the club that provided around three hours of fantastic entertainment for members (writes J. H.).
The club had arranged to go to the new Blue Lagoon pool (part of the Bluestone complex).
There were 66 of us in total, mainly youth club members, but some parents and grandparents also decided to take the plunge.
Quite a few other parents stayed and enjoyed watching on as the youngsters whizzed down the flumes, got a real beach experience with the wave machine and bobbed along the lazy river.
It truly was a fantastic night with something inside to suit all ages.
To be honest, I think some of the adults enjoyed the slides more than the children!
Others enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi area.
It is so wonderful to have such a facility on our doorstep and the Youth Club wishes it every success.
It is not often you can take 60 youngsters somewhere and not even know they were there.
It is also wonderful as a club to give the young people an opportunity to visit somewhere like this with so many of their friends.
Don't forget this week, the club is taking on an Italian theme, so if anyone fancies dressing up please feel free!
