Carew have two big cup matches to look forward to in seven days. On Sunday, July 27, the Pembrokeshire village side will be home to Gloucestershire team Marshfield in the quarter- finals of the npower Village Cup. The following Saturday they will play Narberth in the Graham Jewson Harrison-Allen Bowl final at Cresselly. Carew defeated Cornish champions Perran-ar- Worthal emphatically by eight wickets in the previous round of the Village Cup and it is anticipated that the club selectors will keep faith with that team as far as possible and it will be a mixture of first team and second team regulars. Speaking to Observer Sport, Carew secretary and opening batsman Nick Scourfield said "It will be a huge game for the club as we will be just two matches away from a place in the Lord's final. "It was a terrific all round display down in Cornwall and we will be just as focused and committed against a very good Marshfield side on Sunday. "We have been in touch with Marshfield Cricket Club and we are delighted to hear that they have a big travelling support and that they will be bringing two buses to Carew. "In view of the large crowd expected, teas for players and officials will be provided in the Village Hall alongside the cricket field to make space in the clubhouse all day for spectators." The Village Cup match at Carew will start at 2 pm.
