Delighted Carew kept their 'double' hopes alive when they reached the final of the Harrison-Allen Bowl last week.
In the process, they ended Haverfordwest's own chances of a league and bowl double, as the two sides are also battling it out at the top of division one.
On this occasion, it was the villagers who held the upper hand as, in front of a large crowd at neutral ground Lawrenny, they restricted the table-topping Town to 114 for 8 in their allotted 22 overs.
Top scorers were Paul Thomas with 35 and Phil Sutton with 24, while Carew's most successful bowlers were Rob Scourfield with 3 for 23 and Darren Thomas with 2 for 26.
When Carew replied, both openers were soon back in the pavilion, but Phil Jones kept them in the hunt with a solid 38 and at the death, skipper Darren Thomas completed a fine all round game with a hasty 16 in five balls to see them home to victory with three wickets and an over to spare.
