Carew recovered from being 38-3 through a fourth wicket partnership of 90 between skipper Robert Hicks who scored 56 and Tom Richards who buckled down in a mature manner, restrained his natural attacking instinct to score 52 not out in a winning total of 171-5.

Carew will be away to Timbsbury (Bath), the group winners in Somerset and Avon in the next round on Sunday June 26.
Nick Scourfield the Carew Secretary and first team opening batsman said "There is a great buzz in the village and supporters are very excited about the visit to Timbsbury. All players are keen to play and the bus will leave the clubhouse at 8.00am. We expect the bus to be full with players and supporters and many families intend travelling by car".
There will be strong competition for places in the team and the selectors will be able to select from a full squad apart from the injured duo of Robert and Martin Scourfield.
