After a long and exciting season, Carew Under 11s and 10s were in jubilant mood at their recent presentation evening. Both coaches, Clive and Kim, thanked all the parents and everyone at Carew club for their continuous support. A special note of thanks was given to Mrs. Rowena Lloyd who has taken over the posts of junior secretary and welfare officer for the coming season. All the players were praised for their behaviour and excellent sportsmanship throughout the season. Four boys, Jack Tranter, Shaun Whitfield, George Wilkins and Norton Williams, were congratulated on attending the Pembrokeshire Academy at Tenby and Shaun and George also for playing in the Pembrokeshire Schools Under 11s football team. This year, to the delight of the all the youngsters, Mike Lewis, Carew's first team player/manager, kindly attended to present the players with their awards. Mike presented each player with an award for all their hard work, while some of the Under 10s also received medals for representing Carew in the recent Kilgetty tournament. This year, the main awards were won by the following youngsters: For the Under 11s: Most Improved Player - George Grove; Players' Player - Marcus Read; Clubman - Andrew Barnard. For the Under 10s: Most Improved Player - Ben Brickle; Players' Player - Mark Davies; Clubman - Sam Lewis. A big thank you to everyone who came along on the evening, and brought with them an excellent spread of food, to Mike for presenting the awards and the two impromptu speech-makers Shaun and Marcus for their kind words.
