Without captain and top goal scorer Jamie Smith for the second week running, Carew relied on young Zac Cole to head the attack and he didn't fail as he put in a cross from Williams halfway through the first half.
Swansea Uni played a fast game, which the Rooks matched in all quarters. The students had no answer to the young Rooks' wingbacks, Meridith and Barton. Centre-half Wheeler spread the ball around the pitch, putting the students on the back foot, Ferguson ran riot down the left and Williams gave the students' left defence an afternoon they will not want to remember, as he left them in his wake each time he drove down the wing.
It was only the impressive goalkeeping of the students' 'keeper, coupled with several missed chances by the Rooks' attack, with Ferguson hitting the post, Williams and Wheeler both coming close and Mike Reid being denied on several occasions, that kept the score down.
However, the Rooks did not have it all their own way. The students, being one place behind Carew in the league, were a hard team to contain and it took fine defensive work from Joe Pullen and Clements, coupled with two excellent saves from Lewis, to nullify the attacks.

The Rooks opened the scoring within five minutes of the start, with Barton edging the ball in at the far post, but a lapse in concentration soon after, left goalkeeper Shane Lewis open for Bridgend to make it 1-1.
From here on, Carew completely dominated the game, with further goals coming from Mike Reid (2), Tom Ferguson, Zac Cole and Grant Cole.
Fine defence from Joe Pullen, Clements, Moseley and Meridith made sure Bridgend's few attacks came to nothing.
Despite valiant defending by Bridgend, the scoreline could well have been more had Carew not hit the post and put in the chances that were too numerous to mention.

Bridgend 'C' 1 Carew 'A' 3
Bridgend took an early lead, but with Dan Rees and Brad Clements rotating the duties of striker, Clements replied with a great goal to make the score 1-1 at half-time.
The solid defensive work from Pearson, Ferguson and Reid kept the Bridgend strike force at bay.
Evans had an excellent game, running the Bridgend defence ragged, and was well suported by Adam Pullen, Hext and Doona.
Fieldhouse picked up on some poor goalkeeping to put Carew ahead and a variation on a short corner gave Hext the opportunity to make the final score 3-1.
