Facilities driver, Richard Paxton, aged 29, from Leachway in Tenby, played The National Lottery Cars and Cash scratchcard game for only the second time and won the top prize of a Vauxhall Astra Coupe 1.8i worth over £15,000.
Whilst working in London for Filmscope, Richard popped in to Safeway in Hatch End to buy cream cakes for his workmates to have on their tea break.
Having previously won a pound on a Cars and Cash scratchcard, Richard thought he would try his luck again. He could not believe his eyes when he scratched off the panels to reveal the winning symbol.
Richard said: "I was lost for words! Unfortunately, a few weeks before Christmas my car was stolen from work so the win couldn't have come at a better time. I have five kids, but I'm not sure yet if I'll be letting them in the new car!"
Richard celebrated by collecting the keys to his new car at the Vauxhall dealership, W. P. Lewis and Son, Greenfield Garage, Pembroke Dock.
