A Tenby guest house owner is set to feature on a popular car programme after his classic vehicle got a surprise makeover.
For those unfamiliar with the Car SOS series, broadcast on the National Geographic TV channel, each week master mechanic Fuzz Townshend and fellow presenter Tim Shaw set off on a mission to save a decaying classic car for a deserving owner.
The car is taken to the Car SOS garage and carefully restored to its former glory, leading to the big, surprise reveal.
Huw Morgan, who runs the Kingsbridge Guest House in Tenby’s Warren Street with his wife Nicky, was chosen by the producers as a worthy individual after suffering three brain tumours and owning a classic 1983 Astra GTE.
“The car has been kept in a barn in Pontypool all these years - as Huw refused to get rid of it, so I nominated him to appear on the show to give him a boost and a lovely surprise,” explained Huw’s sister Rowenna.
The episode, to be broadcast next Thursday, May 26, at 8 pm, features Huw being invited to a hotel in Brecon having won a luxury three-course lunch.
However, he is stopped and interviewed by ex Welsh rugby player Colin Charvis, who is there under the pretence of being filmed for a book launch.
Presenters Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townsend then surprise Huw by revealing the makeover his classic Astra GTE has received.
