Motorists will soon have to pay at Narberth's Town Moor car park.
Controversial car parking charges at the facility have been approved by Pembrokeshire County Council's cabinet.
Following consultation with members of the public, members determined charges for all-year-round car parks at various sites around the county on Monday.
This move results in charges being introduced at Narberth's currently free Town Moor car park.
Despite local opposition, charges - 40p for up to two hours, 50p for up to four hours, and daily £1 - will come into force.
Other car parks involved in the charging scheme are South Quay, Pembroke, Gordon Street and Lower Meyrick Street in Pembroke Dock, and the multi-storey car park in Tenby.
At the town's Upper Park Road car park, the charges for levels one, two and three will be £1 daily.
A four-hourly 50p rate will also be introduced at (October 1 to March 31) in addition to the £1 daily rate.
The charges are intended to come into force as soon as practicable during 2010, as regulations permit.
Car parking charges will apply between the hours of 9 am and 5.30 pm daily.
