Pembrokeshire County Council has apologised this week for any inconvenience caused by the closure of part of Tenby's mutli-storey car park.

"It is regrettable that the essential maintenance work being carried out on the multi-storey car park has taken longer to complete than anticipated," said a council spokesman yesterday (Thursday).

"The county council apologises for the inconvenience caused, but the improvements will extend the life of the car park," the spokesman continued.

"The delay in re-opening the upper floors of the structure is due to problems experienced by the sub-contractor with the waterproofing process applied to the up-ramp between the ground and first floor, and difficulties with the replacement of the drainage channels."

The first floor, however, re-opened yesterday (Thursday) and it is expected that the remaining two floors will be in use before Easter.
