KILGETTY car enthusiast Lance Davies is polishing his cherished 36-year-old Rover to perfection as he prepares for a top competition. Lance, who is retired, has entered the 1970 P5 coupe in the southern round of the 2006 Autoglym Concours Championship at the Jaguar Drivers' Club 50th anniversary meeting at Eynsham Hall, near Witney, Oxfordshire, on May 21. If he wins his class, he will be eligible for the high profile Grand Final at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre in October. Lance, who has owned the stunning silver birch car for 11 years, will face fierce competition at Eynsham Hall, as some of the UK's most immaculately-prepared vehicles will be fighting for top honours in Europe's leading concours championship.
