Saundersfoot School has had a successful fund-raising year, accumulating over £4,000 for school equipment. Some of this will be spent on upgrading the software used by the school for use in the new computer suite.

The Friends of Saundersfoot School have organised several events recently, including a sponsored slim, which raised £230. A prize, donated by Swallowtree Gardens, was awarded to Ellie Griffiths for netting the most sponsor money.

Biggest success this year was the annual fun run held at the end of June. A total of £1,400 was taken on the night, and a whopping £1,200 was raised from sponsorship money from the children.

Once again, a prize was awarded for the most sponsorship money raised, this time to Jamie Williams in Year 5.

Many thanks to everyone who made the event such a success. In particular all the establishments in Saundersfoot and Tenby who donated items; Mr. Andy Evans, of St. Brides Hotel, who helped secure the bar licence; Classic Carpets, who gave their advertising space; Frosts for the loan of the barbecue; Barclays for their donation; Pembrokeshire Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership for the bouncy castles; and, of course, all the parents and staff who worked so hard.

The Friends of Saundersfoot School have one last event before enjoying a restful summer break. There will be a car boot sale and cake stall on the school field at 2 pm this Sunday, July 29. Now is the time to sell all those unwanted items unearthed during your spring-cleaning and help to boost the school funds at the same time.

Pitches are £5 for cars and £8 for vans. Please come along and support us, you might even find a few bargains!
