Through the columns of your newspaper, I would like on behalf of the Saundersfoot Local Committee of Cancer Research UK to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those involved with the 2011 New Year's Day Swim at Saundersfoot and who very kindly donated sponsorship monies to Cancer Research UK.
At the recently held presentation of cheques at St. Brides Hotel, I was given, as chairman of the committee, a cheque for the magnificent sum of £2,500 by the organisers of this very popular annual event, Mr. Martyn Williams and his team on the Saundersfoot Festivities Committee, and thanks and appreciation must go to them for their kind donation and for all their very hard work and commitment to raising funds for charities such as ours.
This is very much appreciated not only by us all on the Saundersfoot Local Committee and the Cancer Research organisation across the UK, but also I am sure by all those who have been affected in one way or another by this awful disease.
Donations are very important to Cancer Research UK and help fund important research by dedicated doctors and scientists throughout the UK and all donations, large and small, are gratefully received so that research can continue to find a cure for all forms of cancer, hopefully in the very near future.
