It has been announced that St. David's Cathedral will be burning a special candle of remembrance for those who have lost loved ones to cancer.

The Candle of Hope appeal is being organised by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) and will involve burning a candle in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.

As well as giving people the opportunity to remember those who have been lost to cancer, the appeal is also a chance to raise funds towards WCRF's cancer prevention work.

Teresa Nightingale, general manager at WCRF, said: "We are proud that St. David's Cathedral is supporting us by holding Candle of Hope.

"The candle is a way for local people to remember those who have been lost to cancer.

"As well as the candle acting as a tribute, this appeal also offers hope - by raising money for our research and education programmes, people can make a positive contribution to preventing cases of cancer in the future."
