Whilst going through his father's photographs, Robert Carlisle came across this picture by S. J. Allen, Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest, of a naval funeral. "I believe his father, John Henry Carlisle, is in the naval guard of honour. John was in the navy before and during WWI serving on Torpedo boat No 20 and submarine E 41. I wonder if any of your readers might be able to shed some light on the event in the photograph, if indeed it was local to Pembroke Dock?" asked Mr. Carlisle.
