Sir,

We would like to say thank you to all of the people who  opposed the wind turbines at Ffynnoncyll.

You wrote letters of objection, signed a petition and kept us going for eight months. We hope to have your continued support if such an application surfaces again.

The applicant, Mr. Nigel Short, withdrew his application at the last minute on the morning of the planning committee meeting.

The implications are that he has an opportunity to re-apply before January 20, 2010, free of charge, as it is within one year of the original application.

Unfortunately, the petition and letters of objection are null and void as from November 5. We would have to start from scratch if he re-applies.

If he does not re-apply by the January 2010 date, he will be able to make another application at any time at normal cost.

We can't be complacent and we have to be prepared for any future similar applications or any other threats to Whitland

This application which would adversely affect  Whitland and the surrounding area has pulled the community together.

We would like to perpetuate this community spirit, so watch out for some social events.
