Members of SI Tenby and District were delighted and proud to receive recognition of their ongoing awareness campaign on the issue of FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), from the Soroptimist International Federation of Great Britain and Ireland at the Federation Conference in Harrogate on November 1. The SIGBI Federation is made up of clubs from 28 countries (Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Cameroon, Channel Islands, The Gambia, Grenada, India, Ireland, Jamaica, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Nigeria, Pakistan, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sri Lanka, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trindad and Tabago, Turks and Caicos Islands, Uganda, United Kingdom and Zimbawe) and Tenby was the recipient of the 'Best Practice Award' in the area of Human Rights and the Status of Women. For their project to have been chosen from all the club projects across the Federation was a tremendous accolade, and made the hard work involved so worthwhile.
