As the case of a man who mysteriously went missing while on a golfing trip to Tenby continues, his family have issued a new plea this week for anyone with information with regards to his whereabouts to come forward. Twenty-seven-year-old James William Nutley from Caldicot, Monmouthshire, went missing at around 11 pm on the night of Sunday, October 24, 2004, while on a golfing trip with friends and has not been seen since. The group had been staying at the town's Giltar Hotel and Mr. Nutley's friends raised the alarm when he did not return after a night out in the town. He disappeared after leaving The Prince of Wales in the arcade between Upper Frog Street and South Parade. Mr Nutley is described as six-foot two inches tall, with brown hair, and was last seen wearing a white top with blue sleeves and blue jeans. An intensive search of the coastline failed to find any trace of Mr. Nutley. However, Dyfed-Powys Police reported that a number of his possessions, including his driving licence, were found on the South Beach directly below the Clarence Hotel on town's Esplanade. As the search goes on, Dyfed-Powys Police yesterday (Thursday) released a statement saying: "With regards to the disappearance of James William Nutley in Tenby on October 25, 2004, the police have and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and have maintained close liaison with the family throughout. "The family are also aware of all developments and lines of enquiry currently under investigation and Dyfed Powys Police are not in a position to give any further details as to these lines of enquiry." However, Mr. Nutley's family are still hopeful that someone out there may have vital information with regards to his disappearance from Tenby. "Someone out there must know something about James's disappearance that night; it might be something they think seems insignificant, but could prove extremely relevant," Mr. Nutley's uncle, James Harris, told the Observer this week. As well as a poster campaign which friends and family have continued to push, this week HTV also broadcast a five-minute news report filmed in Tenby, which they hope will promote the fact that James is still recorded as missing. Mr. Harris also said that there were two items belonging to his nephew that had still to be traced. "James was wearing an Animal wrist watch and was also carrying his Samsung E700 mobile phone. I know that it sounds like we're clutching at straws, but if anyone has come across these possessions, maybe for sale somewhere like a car boot sale, then it might establish a link to further information," explained Mr. Harris. A county councillor in his own community of Monmouthshire, Mr. Harris appreciates the support the people of Tenby have given the family. "The people of Tenby have been absolutely tremendous throughout this whole ordeal, and James's family and friends can't thank them enough. We'd especially like to thank the management and staff at the Giltar Hotel for the tremendous welcome and support that they continue to provide," added Mr. Harris. A website http://www.findjamesnutley.com">www.findjamesnutley.com has also been set-up to help trace his whereabouts.
