A canopy has been built at Pembroke Dock Community School to improve the welcome zone that supports children on the autistic spectrum.
The canopy gives the appearance of soft undulating waves and has helped create a more calming and cool atmosphere in the zone.
It was designed by Springboard students at the school, many of whom have children with autism who study in this area.
They were able to share with the rest of the group their knowledge and experience of the environmental factors that affect children with autism.
The students developed various ideas, and commissioned Emma Lloyd to make their final design.
The school is keen to look at more areas of the school where similar canopies of differing tones can be installed - depending on funding.
