Tenby Town Council is to write to the interim chief executive of the Hywel Dda Trust to push for a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group for the area.
Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas informed colleagues at a meeting of the town council on Tuesday that she along with Mrs. Pat Wright, of the disbanded League of Friends, and Mr. Mansel Thomas, former chair of the Tenby Cottage Hospital Local Implementation Group, had drafted a letter which could be sent to Mr. Martin Turner, of the Hywel Dda Trust, requesting more involvement for patients and the general public in the delivery of local health services in Pembrokeshire.
"It is very important that a PPI group is put in place in the area," said Clr. Mrs. Thomas who also thanked local AM Angela Burns for her support on the matter too.
Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter, also felt that it would be beneficial to send letter to Pembrokeshire County Council's old people's champion and cabinet member for adult services and care, Clr. David Wildman as well.
