THE New Deal for Lone Parents Team within the Employment Service is sponsoring a 'Design a Christmas Card' competition amongst Pembrokeshire schools. The overall Pembrokeshire winner of this innovative competition will have his/her picture made into a Christmas card that will be sent by the Employment Service to employers and other external organisations.

Tenby Job Centre has invited 13 local schools to take part and is hoping for a good response in both age categories - primary (six years and under) and junior (seven - 11 years). The closing date for entries is next Friday, November 2.

John Faulkner and Margaret Welsh, well known artists and owners of Art Matters, South Parade, Tenby, have kindly agreed to judge all the Tenby entries.

The winning entries will then be sent to the Job Centre's District Office for the final judging and the opportunity to become overall Pembrokeshire winner.

Thanks to generous sponsorship, Tenby Job Centre will be awarding prizes to the winners from the Tenby area in both age categories. A presentation will be held in the Job Centre on Friday, November 16.

To add to the festive atmosphere, all the local entries will be displayed in Tenby Job Centre throughout December.
