A local councillor has requested Pembrokeshire County Council reconsider looking to undertake further work to tidy the surrounding area of Tenby Leisure Centre.

Speaking at a recent meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Tony Brown said that people had approached him to see if something could be done about the missing environs outside the facility, situated on Marsh Road, as he felt the surrounding area resembled a ‘tip’.

Michael Harries, of the county council’s transportation department, told the town council that the site had been inspected and at present time they did not intend to undertake further work.

An update was provided at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, with the clerk, Andrew Davies, stating that Mr. Harries had said that minor work had been carried out to the fence, but further work was not necessary as the boundary around the facility was secure.

Clr. Brown asked if the town council could go back to Mr. Harries with photographic evidence stating that the area was ‘totally disgusting’.

“It looks an absolute mess down there, and you have kids running through, where the ground isn’t level and there are stones in the grass. It’s totally disgusting and we need to go back to the county council as they need to do something,” he added.
