Tenby County Council representative, Clr. Michael Williams, has written to Pembrokeshire County Council calling for action on two renowned flooding blackspots.
In a letter to head of highways, Mr. Ian Wesley, Clr. Williams says: "The road between the bottom of Gumfreston Hill and Heywood Lane is frequently flooded, requiring traffic to be diverted via Devonshire Drive.
"Despite works carried out by Dwr Cymru on the flood plain over recent years, the flooding is getting worse.
"If as it seems likely the cause is global warming, the highway would appear to need raising to avoid flooding becoming worse year by year."
And Clr. Williams asks: "Please would you arrange for initial surveying work to commence immediately, and a capital allocation of funds made available for the next financial year?"
In the letter, he also adds: "I have raised the issue of flooding in St. Johns Hill over a considerable period, and would ask that initial investigations are commenced now prior to a capital sum being put in place for next year.
"The situation for residents of St. Johns Croft is becoming very difficult, with access to their properties sometimes being impossible, and recently a postal delivery not being possible. Water now frequently floods the entire road and during very cold weather the highway becomes dangerous as it freezes."
