Fifteen wives of men from the Light Dragoons based in Swanton Morley have appeared clad in only their underwear and combats in a series of photos, posing with flags and various items of military uniform, for a fund-raising calendar.
The women, who are all aged between 24 and 43 and have no previous modelling experience, hope to raise money for the Light Dragoons charity. The wives are hoping the proceeds from the calendars will go towards the Light Dragoons Charitable Trust.
The calendar's campaign organisers, Sharon Jarvis and Nicky Church, whose husbands serve in the Light Dragoons, said the models, who have over 20 children between them, were inspired by their husbands bravery.
"There is a really strong bond of camaraderie between women on Robertson Barracks. I just wanted to do something positive as a military wife. Having the photos taken was bizarre, everyone was nervous, but you just get into it and it's really exciting and lots of fun."
Miss January, Caroline Cox, 28, a born and bred Pembroke girl, who is seen peeling her way through a pile of potatoes, added: "At first we were all quite shy about having our pictures taken, but when we saw how they had come out we just thought 'wow, take some more'.
"My husband said he was very proud of what we were doing and I'm always telling him how proud I am of the work he does."
Caroline spent the first 22 years of her life living in Pembroke before meeting her husband in Paddles night spot, Pembroke, while he was training at the Army Training Facility in Castlemartin in 2002.
Twelve months later, she married my husband, Steve, -a soldier in the Light Dragoons - at Haverfordwest Register Office, before a blessing at Westgate Chapel in Pembroke.
They now both live at Robertson Barracks in Swanton Morley, Norfolk.
All of Caroline's family and friends live in Pembroke and they manage to get home about four times a year to be with them. Her husband Steve often returns to Castlemartin with the regiment to do training.
Added Caroline: "I know all my family and friends will buy the calendar, but I believe the people of Pembrokeshire will also get behind this campaign as they regularly welcome the soldiers into the area. I know how supportive the people of Pembrokeshire are and I want the rest of the UK to see how they lead by example and support their troops."
The charity calendar has been sponsored by Breckland Council's Pride in Breckland scheme.
The 2010 calendars cost £5 and can be bought from various outlets across Pembrokeshire, including Frame in Pembroke Dock and Johnston or Jays Sandwich shop in Pembroke from November 16.
