More than 100 swimmers are planning to splash out in the 2014 Caldey-Tenby swim. The excellent response to the event means that it is fully-subscribed, with a reserve list of entrants being set up. "The organisers, Tenby Sea Swimming Association, are delighted that the take-up has been so popular," said TSSA chairman, Chris Osborne. Swimming between Caldey Island and the mainland is a long-standing tradition in Tenby for individuals and small groups, but last year was the first time for the challenge to take place under the umbrella of TSSA, which has organised the town's legendary Boxing Day Swim for over 40 years. Sponsored for the second year by Princes Gate Water and Big Brum's, the event has this year also welcomed the sponsorship of the Port of Milford Haven Community Fund. The event, on Sunday, August 31, will be once again raising money for the RNLI, to whom it contributed over £3,400 last year. Swimmers have now been contacted to let them now they have made the main list of entrants, to enable them to submit their entry fee of £30 and to download their sponsorship form.
