Last weekend was a busy time for one of the town's Sea Cadets, Leading Cadet Max Randles, who represented the unit on Saturday at the District small bore shooting competition, held on the indoor range at the TA Centre in Haverfordwest, then on Sunday at the District swimming competition held at Llanelli Leisure Centre.

District Officer Lt. Cdr. Alan Thomas (SCC) RNR addressed the staff and cadets, prior to the presentation of medals and awards, commending their commitment and hoped to see more junior and senior cadets join and enjoy the wide variety of activities and opportunities in the future, noting that West Wales District was the most successful in the area, with LC Randles personally collecting three medals and named the Tenby unit winner of the 'Senior Boys Swimming' certificate.

His success at these competitions means LC Randles will now go forward to represent the District at the Area competition held at HMS Raleigh in October, where cadets from across the UK will enjoy a weekend of sport and recreation on the naval base in dedicated accommodation.

Tenby Sea Cadets, like others across the UK, provide an interesting and varied series of activities for girls and boys, from 10-years-old as juniors and 12-years-old as senior cadets, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the year between 7 and 9 pm.
