Volunteer lifeguards from Tenby Surf Lifesaving Club were once again out on patrol over the Bank Holiday weekend at Tenby's Castle Beach providing safety advice and rescue services to beach goers.

These patrols were the second phase in a trial service currently under taken by the organisation looking into the possibility of providing a voluntary lifeguard service on local beaches during the early holiday season.

The club's volunteers were involved in four incidents over the weekend dealing with everything from first aids to water searches, as well providing safety advice to beach users.

Head of lifesaving, Angelo Fecci said: "These trials have proved successful and have dealt with a number of incidents over both the Easter and May Bank Holiday weekends. The clubs volunteers have been great providing a proactive service helping to keep beach goers safe."

The club is always looking to recruit and train new lifesavers and anyone over the age of 16 who is interested in becoming a volunteer lifeguard should contact the club on [email protected]">[email protected].
