Last Thursday, National Park officer Kirri Howells met the 1st Tenby Cub Pack at Gumfreston to collect and identify mini beasts in the woods at the near of the church. They also made lace wings and bee containers out of bamboo which were placed in the hedges to encourage more insects. They also took turns at helping to construct a bird box. Thank you Kim for coming along; it was a very instructive and enjoyable evening. Thanks also to Simon for the barbeque - the food disappeared at speed! During the past few weeks, the Cubs have been very busy practising fire lighting and cooking outdoors, also working hard on their home help, swimming, road safety and artist badges. They also enjoyed a night hike, with chips very late on the beach (thank you Simon), and a sleep or non-sleepover in the Scout and Guide Hall - thanks also to Anna and Chris. The 1st Tenby Scout Group is very grateful to receive £700 in lieu of floral tributes in memory of past assistant Cub Scout leader, Mrs. Irene Nicolls. Irene was a leader during the '60s and '70s with Friday Cub Pack Many former Cubs will remember happy times spent with Irene. Some of the money will be used for training and replacing much-needed equipment.
