The Local History Club at Tenby VC Infants School has had a busy time recently. They have visited Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, had a talk on Henry Tudor and then visited the tunnel under Boots the Chemist where a fugitive 14-year-old future king Henry VII is supposed to have hidden. Next it was the turn of St. Mary's Church and the Tower. First they stopped at the bell room for Mrs. Jenkins to ring one of the bells, and then it was up to the next level to see the actual bells. With great excitement the group went on up to the top of the tower and everyone was all amazed by the beautiful views across Tenby. Coming down the stairway was another adventure! Then it was into the church to look at all the recently restored statues. Last week, the group was invited by the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, to visit the Mayor's Parlour and see the very old maces. After looking at all the photographs and a look round the turret, the children were delighted to be given squash and biscuits. Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Jenkins and all the children would like to thank everyone who has helped them with their visits.
