Martletwy Young Farmers Club has had a very busy time recently. In the County YFC Rally, they were placed sixth overall. This was a marvellous achievement by a small club, whose success was achieved by the aid of a number of people and organisations who helped members with their tasks for the various rally and pre-rally competitions. A very big thank you is extended to all those who gave up their valuable time and patience in the run- up to the rally day, from all the members of Martletwy YFC. However, members have been enjoying a more relaxed time since the hectic and busy schedule of the rally preparations, including a night out bowling at Canaston Centre and a barbecue on the beach in Tenby. Martletwy are now looking forward to a summer of activities and fund-raising events. This week, several members have been enjoying a visit to the Royal Welsh Show. No doubt those who attended the show will have had a good time. Martletwy have a bottle stall at the Martletwy Show fund-raising event at Cresswell Quay next Friday, July 28, at 6 pm. Everyone is welcome, so why not go along for a fun night out. The following day, Saturday July 29, members are holding a barbecue at the final of the Harrison Allen Bowl to be held at Cresselly Cricket Club from 12.30 pm onwards, where local teams Cresselly and Carew will be playing. During the summer holidays, members are looking forward to competitions at the County Show, Haverfordwest, and also their annual show in Cresselly on Wednesday, August 26. Anyone wishing to know more about Martletwy YFC can pop into their tent, which will be on the show field, for some refreshments and see what activities members have for you to take part in. Although the autumn seems far away at the moment, Martletwy has already begun arranging a programme of events, beginning with the AGM, which will be held at the YFC Hall, Cresselly, on Friday, September 9, at 8 pm.
