The Fourth Tenby Guides have had a busy term. They filled shoe boxes for operation 'Christmas Child', won the Pembrokeshire Guides Trophy, enjoyed craft evenings, took part in the Remembrance Sunday parade and held a Christmas fancy dress party. On enrolment, the Guides can choose where they make their Girl Guide Promise. Twelve Guides chose to make their Girl Guide Promise on a train. Therefore in November, 32 Guides and their leaders boarded the train in Tenby and took the return journey to Pembroke Dock - much to the delight and surprise of the other passengers! During the Christmas holidays, the Guides went to see The Wizard of Oz at Cardiff, Wales Millennium Centre, which they all enjoyed. Kim Turner and Emma Harris renewed their promise in the foyer of the Millennium Centre as part of their Leader certificate to become Guide Guiders, which they have both been working hard towards and hope to complete shortly. Volunteers are needed for all units of Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. There is a waiting list of girls wishing to join the movement; if you could spare an hour or two to help, or have a talent to share, please contact District Commissioner, Helen Perrett, on 01834 811916. The Guides will have to restrict their programme of activities yet again this year due to not having a Guide Hall. They were disappointed to find that the plans were deferred when they were looking forward to enjoying the facilities of their purpose- built, brand new, fully accessible centre in 2006.
