4th Tenby Guides had a busy autumn term, which started with the unit welcoming seven new Guides - Anna, Emily, Emma, Izzy, Molly, Martha and Rhiannon.

A few weeks into the term, and with a break in the weather, the Guiders felt brave enough to take the unit out on a night hike along the Knightston path, with a quiz and scavenger hunt en-route.

The evening ended with toasted marshmallows at Bells Corner. Leaves collected on the hike were turned into decorative ceramic bowls and collages in the following weeks, enabling the Guides to earn sections of the Rustle, Bustle and Squeak Challenge Badge.

November 5 was a Big Bang night, with Guides conducting a series of science experiments and also experimenting with different flavours of popcorn.

On November 19, the Guides assisted their Young Leader, Annie, in hosting a presentation night. Annie gave a fascinating talk and slide show concerning her recent trip to India.

During the evening, the Guides were delighted to present former 4th Tenby Guider, Barbara Pegg, with her retirement present, a silver locket inscribed with the Irish blessing, a song that the Guides also sang during the evening.

This year, for Christmas, the Guides decorated ornaments, to take home as gifts.

Every Patrol chose and completed a Go For It challenge during the term: Pandas achieving Team Work, Puffins Five Senses, Lions Party Planners, Caterpillars Showtime and the Starfish Healthy Eating.

At the end of the 90th year of Guiding in Tenby, the unit was delighted to join Guides from across Pembrokeshire at the annual County Carol Service at St. Mary's Church.

The final meeting of term involved a trip to Blueberry's Café, where everyone enjoyed a delicious meal.

Thank you to David and his team for opening late for us and making this such an enjoyable visit - we'll be back!

A trip to the bandstand followed, where six Guides made their promise and Roo made her adult promise, which is possibly the first time in Pembrokeshire that a Guider has been enrolled by her sister?

The evening ended with the Guides being presented with the badges and challenges earned during the term and a Christmas gift from Lt. Pegg.

4th Tenby Guides would like to thank everyone who helps and supports the unit, and wish everyone all the very best for 2014.

The first meeting of 2014 will be held on Tuesday, January 14.
