There was a steady flow of customers to the sale held by the Saundersfoot, Tenby and District Committee of Macmillan Cancer Relief at Saundersfoot Harbour last Tuesday. The all-day sale of plants, books, bric a brac and marmelade raised the excellent sum of £560. The same evening, the committee was again involved in fund-raising, but less-actively so, when The Amici Singers, an accomplished mixed choir from Leeds, gave a concert for the charity at St Mary's Church, Tenby. The concert was well- attended and the audience were rewarded with an interesting and varied programme, finely and enthusiastically performed. Highlights included The Magnificat by Pergolesi, piano solos by Elizabeth Harding and motets, anthems, cantatas, spirituals, folk song arrangements and 20th century music: some in a lighter vein. The well-received concert raised £380 for the cause. The day's combined total of £940 boosts the committee's fund-raising for the provision of cancer care, education, information and support.
