The Rotary Club of Tenby has been very busy in recent weeks. On Friday, January 11, Rotarians took part in the very successful NSPCC concert at Greenhill School.
The District 1150 (zone 2) Quiz Final was held at Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth on Wednesday, January 16. The three competing Rotary Clubs had all won their first round matches - this was the Pembrokeshire final.
In front of a sizeable audience, Tenby beat Pembroke (last year's winners) and Narberth and Whitland. Consequently, Tenby now go forward to the final rounds of District 1150 (South and Mid Wales).
On Friday, January 25, Tenby RC held an Open Information Evening at the Royal Lion Hotel. This was arranged with a view to attracting new members to the club and the event proved to be a success, despite the inclement weather.
Tenby United hosted Tumble in a Division Three West clash on Saturday, January 26. Tenby RC sponsored the game which was very entertaining. The hosts were victorious and thus maintained an outside chance of promotion.
On Tuesday, January 29, Tenby played their annual Ten Pin Bowls match against Narberth and Whitland, although this year, with Phoenix Bowl in Milford Haven being the venue, the home town club also joined in an enjoyable triangular tournament.
As is tradition, the losing team takes home the china chamber pot - and. as it turned out, it didn't have far to travel as the Milford club themselves were the recipents of the trophy!
